Return to the ski origins

Ski mountaineering in Alta Badia

To intensely feel which are the emotions that uncontaminated nature can give you, you need to go back to the origins of ski with a sport full of sacrifice but also satisfaction. Ski mountaineering is slowly gaining more and more public in the last few years and anyone who saw the Dolomites covered with snow, from the top of a peak, being rewarded for the effort undertaken, will understand the reason why.

A descent on the ski on untouched pavement, in a unique context such as the Dolomites can only offer will last for a very long time.

The tour starts from the downstream station of the chair lift Santa Croce, where you can start a steep track and reach the little church of Santa Croce, from here you will cross the meadows of Armentara in order to get to Spëscia. The hardest part requires a steep ascent until the Ju de Sant Antone and then to the Forcella del Piz dales Nü, from here a descent until the shelter Lavarella and up to the Forcella Medesc. Lastly you will face the Val de Medesc to go back with a little climb to the church where you will then slowly come back to the village of Badia.

Three days in a cycling paradise. This hotel is PERFECT - Miriam is a great front of house host and Oskar is a superb chef. Great location too - handy for Giau and Sellaronda (or Maratona dles Dolomites).
